China Scholarship Council and University of St Andrews PhD Scholarship

The School of History is looking for promising applicants for a PhD scholarship that is jointly offered by the China Scholarship Council and the University of St Andrews. The award includes full university and school fee waivers, and a maintenance grant for living expenses (around £950 per month) for the duration of three to four years of doctoral study.
Applicants must be citizens of, and ordinarily resident in, mainland China; they must submit formal evidence of their language competency (a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 with at least 7.0 in writing, or equivalent); and they must hold, or be working towards, a Master’s degree, with a clear emphasis on the relevant discipline. They must have a minimum of 85% in their first degree and, if available, coursework marks in a Master’s programme that are consistently in the top range of the marking scale.
Candidates are encouraged to contact the China Scholarship Council directly to ascertain whether they satisfy the selection criteria set out by CSC.
